The safety system for the connection between a tractor and a self-loading mixer wagon (M) comprises a control unit (C) made up of a mixer screw release (T1) and a monitor (T2) which detects when the screw is stationary. The screw drive is only released after the power take-off shaft of the tractor is stationary and the stationary state of the screw is monitored up to the point of release.
