The method involves branching a part mass flow (m1) upstream of a supply (23) for steam to the turbine (10). The branched-off part mass flow is cooled and cunducted back to the supply and with the remaining mass flow (m2) to the turbine. Preferably, the branched off part mass flow represents 6% of the total mass flow (m). Fluid from a main supply line (18) may be used to cool the part mass flow in a heat exchanger (17). An Independent claim is included for a device for implementing the method.
