Use of 1-(4-(5-cyanoindol-3-yl)butyl)-4-(2-carbamoyl-benzofuran-5-yl)-piperazine or its physiologically acceptable salts for the manufacture of medicaments for the treatment of sub-type anxiety disorders, is new. Use of 1-(4-(5-cyanoindol-3-yl)butyl)-4-(2-carbamoyl-benzofuran-5-yl)-piperazine or its physiologically acceptable salts for the manufacture of medicaments for the treatment of sub-type anxiety disorders chosen from the sub-types panic disorder with or without agoraphobia, agoraphobia, obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders, social phobia, post-traumatic stress disorder, acute stress indication and/or generalized anxiety disorder.
