A process for reducing the thermal dissipation in the case of a simple ring (10) comprises the fact of using a current regulator pulse width modulation (pwm) comprising a switch which is in the form of a field effect transistor (fet), and to use a time of release of the fet transistor to provide a wide range of operating current. The fet transistor is a delay of unblocking inherent which can be used in such a way that, while the cyclic ratio is small, the impedance of the drain to the source of the fet transistor dominates a path of an inductive output filter and increases the output filtering.
