The invention relates to novel thiacalix[4]arene derivative complexes having formula (I), wherein R1a, R2a, R3a, R4a, R1b, R2b, R3b and R4b are as defined in claim 1. The invention also relates to the use thereof, particularly for the production of materials having optical limiting properties.
