The device has a movable body (2) with a groove of a rack in its periphery. The body drives a translational body equipped with pinions (5a, 5b), with respect to a fixed body (3). The pinion (5b) is inclined vertically and cooperates with the groove. The pinion (5a) is inclined horizontally and cooperates with another rack through a gear in a translational manner. The latter rack is mounted on the body (3) in parallel to the body (2). Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) an elevator driving system comprising a rotational motion converting device (b) a windscreen wiper driving system comprising a rotational motion converting device (c) a system for driving opening/closing of frame e.g. window comprising a rotational motion converting device.
