The device has a sheath (1) made of a rigid material and dimensioned to be engaged on a mussel bed (100). The sheath has spacers (5) at an internal surface of the sheath for maintaining a wall of the sheath at a distance from the bed. The spacers are projected in a transversal plane at a longitudinal axis of the sheath. The sheath has shafts for maintaining seed oysters rope next to the mussels (102) on the sheath. An independent claim is also included for a process of mussel culture.
