The vehicle has two pairs of arms (3, 3), each including a proximal arm and a distal arm articulated around an axle (4). The proximal arms are articulated to a chassis (1) and the distal arms are articulated to tracks (2). Two hydraulic jacks (5) move the respective tracks from an active position to a retracted position by activating the arms such that the axles of each pair are spaced and brought closer. The tracks vary a gauge of the vehicle in the active position.
