The device has electrical conductor units distributed on a surface of a support connected to a power supply (5). A measuring unit (6) and a transformation unit (7) measure a determined parameter of an object, after placing the object on the support and folding back a cover on the support, such that the object is in uniform contact with the conductor units to measure the dimension of the object. An independent claim is also included for a method of classifying objects.
