The method involves determining driving and inertial forces applied on a wheel. Momentary driving and inertial forces for the wheels and momentary resistance of a vehicle to air are added and then divided by momentary longitudinal acceleration to find estimated value of weight. Resistance to rotation of the vehicle is determined. A braking force applied on the wheel is determined and taken into consideration during addition.
