The cell has two glass plates (2, 3), where an upper surface (24) of the glass plate (2) has an addressing electronics circuit in thin layers and a lower surface of the glass plate (3) has a counter-electrode (31) in thin layers. A liquid crystal layer (7) is arranged between the upper surface and the lower surface. A resistor acting as a temperature transducer is arranged on the upper surface of the plate (2). An independent claim is also included for a liquid crystal imager having a liquid crystal cell.
