The method involves producing a virtual model of an initial hob. Embossing of a unit is simulated by the hob, and an elastic return of the unit is calculated to notify the unit geometry that is compared with final unit geometry to rectify the model. The steps are repeated until the unit geometry corresponds to the final unit geometry. A geometrical representation of the model is produced for machining an embossing tool. The initial hob is complementary to the final unit. The geometry of the unit is compared with geometry of the final unit for calculating spaces between the unit and the virtual model.
