The output of a power element driving signal generator is stopped when an abnormality occurrence electric generation switching signal (4) is output to execute a secondary electric generation control function based on the diode rectifying mode of a power element (30A-30F). A primary electric generation control function corresponding to output of power element driving signal generator is executed under a condition where abnormality occurrence electric generation signal switching signal is not output. A monitoring control device (2) monitors the status of a power converter (1) and outputs abnormality occurrence electric generation switching signal.
