The device has a fuel inlet channel (22) connected to a pressurized fuel reservoir and a metering jet (28). A primary pressure wave (O1) created by repeated opening and closing of a needle valve (30) propagates in the fuel and is divided into secondary waves (O2p, O2d). The channel (22) has a check valve (38) reflecting waves (O1, O2p), and a damping unit with a by-pass channel (54) damping the wave (O2d) while reaching a throttle (60).
