The system has an electric motor (3) supplied with current by a lithium metal polymer battery (4) to ensure movement of a vehicle in a standard driving condition. An electric motor (5) is supplied with current by a lithium ion polymer battery (6), where power of the motor (5) is greater than that of the motor (3). A clutch unit clutches the motor (5) on a transmission device to transmit energy between wheels (2) and the motor (5). Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a method of controlling a system of driving wheels of a motor vehicle (B) an electric motor vehicle having a driving system.
