Low toxicity plant fungicide compositions, useful e.g. for controlling mildew in vines, comprising phosphite and essential vegetable oil(s)

New plant protectant compositions (I) contain effective amounts of (a) at least one fungicidal phosphite compound and (b) at least one essential vegetable oil. ACTIVITY : Fungicide. Grape vines were sprayed every 14 days with 150 l/ha of a formulation comprising 2 l L65 (RTM; mixture of essential oils of camomile, nettle, dandelion, horsetail, bramble, marigold and valerian), 1 l PK2 (RTM; monopotassium phosphite), 2 kg Bordeaux mixture, 6 l sulfur solution and water (to a total of 150 l). The degree of protection against mildew was 97% (on day 50) for leaves and 95% (on day 65) for grapes. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given in the source material.
