The stop has a rolling bearing and a lower bearing seat (3) for a spring. The bearing transmits axial forces between the spring and body shell of a motor vehicle while allowing rotation of the seat. The seat has a body made of synthetic material and a rigid mount (20) contacting the body. The mount has a bearing surface for a damping buffer (21). The seat having an axial retaining unit (22) to retain the mount is connected on the seat. An independent claim is also included for a suspension strut.
