A basket device for scooping objects from the water

A basket device (20) for scooping up or rescuing objects lying in the sea, where the basket, in connection to a landing site, such as onboard a vessel (10), can be shifted from a parked position to a scooping up position adjoining the sea surface (11), and vice versa. A drive gear is arranged to operate the basket via a mounting unit, to provide said position shift. The device is characterised in that the mounting unit is an extended body (30) which is fastened to the basket (20). The shift between the positions occurs with the body (30) extending or retracting axially, while also rotating about its longitudinal axis. This movement enables the basket to be moved in and out from the landing site and to be moved between a horizontal position and a tilted/scooping position (Fig. 2).
