PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for more accurately and simply testing skeletomuscular toxicity-inducing ability possessed by a substance than ever.;SOLUTION: This method for testing the skeletomuscular toxicity-inducing ability possessed by the substance has (1) a first process for contacting a cultured cell derived from a skeletal muscle with a test substance and a target GGPP, (2) a second process for measuring the existence of uptake of the target GGPP, or an amount thereof, in a substance which exists in a cellular homogenate of the cultured cell after the first process, is obtained by subjecting the cellular homogenate to separation with SDS-PAGE, and is contained in a band of electrophoresis corresponding to a molecular weight range of 20 kd to 25 kd in the SDS-PAGE, and (3) a third process for evaluating existence of the skeletomuscular toxicity-inducing ability of the test substance, or a degree thereof, based on a difference obtained by comparing the existence of the uptake of the target GGPP, or the amount thereof, measured in the second process with existence of uptake of the target GGPP, or an amount thereof, measured in a reference standard.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
