PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology capable of starting reproduction from a particular part in a program recorded on a program recording means.;SOLUTION: A program recording/reproducing device records a closed-captioned program, extracts a caption included in a closed-captioned program and displayed on a screen, and records the extracted caption as character information together with positional information on the screen in the program.
