PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool for animal husbandry equipped with a carbon-doped titanium oxide layer functioning as a visible light-responding type photocatalyst and having a photocatalytic activity, excellent in bactericidal/sterilizing/deodorizing activities, having a high skin hardness, and also excellent in durability (peeling off resistance, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, heat resistance and anticorrosion property) and also super hydrophilicity. PSOLUTION: This tool for animal husbandry is provided with that at least a part of the surface layer of its substrate consists of titanium, etc., and a carbon-doped titanium oxide layer obtained by doping the carbon in a state of Ti-C bond is formed on at least a part of the surface of the surface layer, or a layer from which fine pillars of titanium oxide or a titanium alloy compound bristle, is exposed and the fine pillars are doped with carbon on at least a part of the surface layer.
