PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a numerical analysis technology that, when determining probabilistic information (expected values, dispersion) for an attainment extent of underground water stream, can reduce the calculation time and the consumption of various computer resources and obtain a stable result.;SOLUTION: The numerical analysis method determines the probabilistic information, indicating the flow path of the underground water, from an arbitrary point and the expected values and dispersion related to an attainment point at the time that an arbitrary time elapses. In the method, a seepage flow is analyzed from an amount of statistics in flow characteristics of the underground water by a finite element method, and expected values and dispersion for each flow velocity vector of each finite element are calculated. By applying Monte Carlo method, setting is made to random element flow velocity vectors, following the calculated expected values and dispersion for each flow velocity vector. One of trial results of the flow path and attainment point is calculated from the set random element flow velocity vectors by a particle tracking method. Similarly, based on trial results calculated from the particle tracking of a number of the random element flow velocity vectors, determination is made to the probabilistic information related to the flow path and attainment point.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
