PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base material for vegetation, which prevents excessive water from permeating into land and mountains when it rains and drains surplus water without eroding their ground surfaces, and to promote greening even in the environment where bringing earth from elsewhere is unavailable, because of its reinforced water retention capacity. PSOLUTION: This is a base material for vegetation which is laid and anchored at land or mountains to prevent the collapse of slopes etc. and to form vegetation beds for the promotion of greening. The upper and lower layers of the vegetation base material 1 comprise a felt 2 made of plant fibers mixed with reclaimed wool. Between these two felt layers, there is a thin mat 3 accompanied by flexible sheets 3A and 3B carrying seeds 4 and fertilizer particles 5 (these sheets will perish as time passes) and entwined with fibers 11 rising from the felt 2. The laying of the vegetation base material naturally makes sowing seeds and fertilizing, and promotes their even sprouting without uneven seed distribution or flow-away. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
