PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for readily detecting developing neurotoxicity possessed by a chemical material at an early stage as possible.;SOLUTION: The method for detecting the developing neurotoxicity possessed by the chemical material comprises (1) the first step for measuring the expression level of one or more genes selected from a gene having a specific base sequence and the ortho-log thereof in a specimen derived from a mammal previously brought into contact with the chemical material, and (2) the second step for comparing the measured value of the expression level of the gene in the specimen obtained in the first step with a control value of the expression level of the gene, and evaluating the presence or absence of the developing neurotoxicity possessed by the chemical material or the degree of the development thereof in the specimen based on the difference.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
