PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress communication cost in updating map information.;SOLUTION: When a navigation system 2 detects that there is a new road link by collating the map information stored by itself and the map data on the traffic information received from a traffic information delivery center 4, the navigation system updates the map information stored by itself with the map information received from the map information delivery center 3, i.e. the map information included with, for example, the newly opened road or the new load link corresponding to the blocked road without transmitting the destination and the present position to the map information delivery center.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
