PCR PRIMER FOR DISCRIMINATING INSECTICIDE-RESISTANT COTTON APHID

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective method of a gene diagnostic technology for accurately and simply monitoring the trend and present state of development of organophosphorus agent resistance in a cotton aphid, and a PCR primer useful for the method.;SOLUTION: This PCR primer pair consisting of (a) a sequence of at least 10 consecutive DNA selected from the 5'-terminal non-interpreted region of cDNA of carboxylesterase (CE) of the cotton aphid and (b) a complemental sequence to the sequence of at least 10 consecutive DNA selected from the structural gene sequence of the CE is provided. This method for discriminating the insecticide resistant cotton aphid comprises a process of preparing the DNA of the cotton aphid, a process of performing the PCR by using the above primer pair and the DNA as a template, and a process for detecting the amplified products of the PCR.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
