PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a system for highly expressing lactic acid, desirable for producing the lactic acid in a yeast.;SOLUTION: The yeast comprising a lactic acid producing yeast is provided, wherein pyruvate decarboxylase activity and alcohol dehydrogenase activity are each decreased in the yeast and a DNA which encodes a protein having lactate dehydrogenase activity is given to the yeast so as to be expressible. It is preferable that a pyruvate decarboxylase gene is destroyed in the organic acid-producing yeast.
