PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently manufacturing a compound which has (ZnO)SBX/SB(GaN)SB1-X/SBcomposition (wherein, 0.04X0.30), contains a gallium element and has photocatalytic activity. PSOLUTION: A photocatalyst having (ZnO)SBX/SB(GaN)SB1-X/SBcomposition (wherein 0.04X0.30) is manufactured by suspending GaSB2/SBOSB3/SBpowder and ZnO powder in a gas phase including nitrogen gas, ammonia gas and a gaseous saturated hydrocarbon at least and heating the suspended GaSB2/SBOSB3/SBpowder and ZnO powder to 600-1,000C.
