PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a common marmoset (Callithrix Jacchus)-derived β-actin gene as a polynucleotide used as an internal standard to be the reference of an expression level of the gene in a test sample for correcting the amount of a transcript when the difference in the level of gene expression of a desired gene in the two or more kinds of test samples essential to the gene expression is measured as a difference in the transcript of the gene by using an ultrasmall monkey which is one species of New World monkeys in small-sized monkeys and to provide utilization, etc., thereof. PSOLUTION: The common marmoset-derived β-actin gene is provided. The polynucleotide, etc., are the common marmoset-derived β-actin gene or a partial fragment thereof and are characterized as having any base sequence belonging to a specific base sequence group.
