PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for identifying accurately and quickly an oligosaccharide derived from keratan sulfate with a trace amount of sample. PSOLUTION: In this identification method of the oligosaccharide derived from the keratan sulfate, a test oligosaccharide derived from the keratan sulfate is ionized by an electrospray ionization (ESI) method and subjected to a multistage mass spectrometry (MSSPn/SPanalysis) to thereby analyze a sugar chain sequence. The method includes a process for acquiring spectrum data of molecular weight related ions by performing MSSP1/SPanalysis of the test oligosaccharide, a process for acquiring spectrum data ofSP0,2/SPASBr/SBions by performing MSSP2/SPanalysis of the molecular weight related ions acquired in the MSSP1/SPanalysis, a process for acquiring spectrum data ofSP2,4/SPASBr/SBions by performing MSSP3/SPanalysis of theSP0,2/SPASBr/SBions acquired in the MSSP2/SPanalysis, and a process for performing MSSP4/SPanalysis of theSP2,4/SPASBr/SBions acquired in the MSSP3/SPanalysis.
