AUTOMATED OSCILLOMETRIC BLOOD PRESSURE-MEASURING APPARATUS

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automated oscillometric blood pressure-measuring apparatus capable of shortening measurement time while maintaining high measurement precision. PSOLUTION: The automated oscillometric blood pressure-measuring apparatus has a cuff wound around a predetermined part of the living body, and determines blood pressure value BP on the basis of amplitude change of cuff pulse waves generated in the cuff while reducing cuff pressure PC gradually. In the apparatus, the speed for reducing cuff pressure PC gradually is kept constant at 11-13 mmHg/sec or 8-9 mmHg/sec. Since the cuff pressure PC reducing speed is higher than conventional speed (about 5 mmHg/sec), the measurement time is shortened. In addition, because the cuff pressure reducing speed is constant, the apparatus acquires a more accurate blood pressure value BP at higher pressure reducing speed compared to a conventional apparatus which controls reducing amount of cuff pressure PC per one beat to be constant automatically.
