PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide vertical-hole excavating equipment which can efficiently drill a hole without using excavating water or producing removed soil, and a vertical-hole excavating method using the equipment.;SOLUTION: This vertical-hole excavating equipment comprises a lower propellant 3 whose leading end has a spiral rotating blade 2, and a hollow pipe body 4 which is detachably connected to the lower propellant 3 via a connecting mechanism 5. After making the hollow pipe body 4 rotatively pressed into the ground, the connecting mechanism 5 is rotated in the reverse direction of rotation when the hollow pipe body 4 is pressed in, and can be disengaged from the lower propellant 3 by being subjected to a pull-up force.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
