PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side-wall type air cushion ship having seals in front and in the rear and it accelerating method, capable of enhancing the accelerating performance by decreasing the wave forming resistance through decrease in wave formation on the way of acceleration of the ship.;SOLUTION: The side-wall type air cushion ship 1 structured so that air is supplied by a surfacing fan 7 to an air cushion chamber 10 at the ship bottom, is arranged so that the pressure of the air in the air cushion chamber 10 is sunk if the speed is a specified speed setting Vc or low when the ship 1 is being accelerated, and when having exceeded Vc, is raised to the specified pressure setting Ps.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
