PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pattern extraction calculation algorithm for enabling extraction of all the layout patterns that actually exist by means of a computer that uses a small storage area. PSOLUTION: Using the bus 1010, the CPU 1011, the storage area 1012, and the input/output 1013, 1014 of the computer that executes the pattern extraction calculation algorithm, the size of a finite region, the size of a microsegment, the starting point of the layout of the microsegment, the attributes of elements, a sequence having attribute information, and a segment having information about microscopic regions are stored in the storage area. Using conditions and rules, the CPU patterns within a finite size a structure that conforms to a topology consisting of a plurality of elements having attributes.
