PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ethanol-formulated gasoline in which phase separation between a gasoline layer and a water layer can be suppressed by controlling properties of gasoline without using a compatibilizer and adequate operating property of a gasoline-powered vehicle can be ensured even when phase separation occurred.;SOLUTION: In the ethanol-formulated gasoline, the ethanol content is ≥1 vol% and ≤15 vol% and the aromatic content is ≥15 vol% and ≤40 vol% and the olefin content is ≥5 vol% and ≤30 vol% and the water content is ≥0.01 vol% and ≤0.9 vol% and the research octane number is ≥89 and 97 and clouding point is ≤0°C and phase separation index T represented by formula (I): T=1.6×10³×(Wa)^0.33×(Et)^-0.46×(Ar)^-0.07×(Ol)^-0.07 {wherein Wa is a water content; Et is an ethanol content; Ar is an aromatic content; Ol is an olefin content, each based on the amount (vol%) to total amount of the ethanol-formulated gasoline} is ≤273.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
