YEAST-TYPE GROWTH INDUCING AGENT OF DIMORPHIC FUNGUS

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a yeast-type growth inducing agent of a dimorphic fungus, having high safety and capable of being expected to have an enough effect of improving various symptoms of fungal infections. PSOLUTION: This yeast-type growth inducing agent of the dimorphic fungus contains at least one kind selected from a chitosan oligosaccharide, a reduction product of the chitosan oligosaccharide, a chitin oligosaccharide, a reduction product of the chitin oligosaccharide, glucuronic acid, glucosaminitol, lactosylamine, galactosyllactosamine, and salts thereof in an effective amount, so that the agent inhibits mycelium-type growth of the dimorphic fungus and induces yeast-type growth thereof. Thus, the various symptoms of the fungal infections caused by the mycelium-type growth of the dimorphic fungus exhibiting dimorphism are alleviated and improved. It is preferable that the oligosaccharides and the reduction products of the oligosaccharides each have a saccharide polymerization degree of 2 to 8. Further, the agent alleviates and improves the various symptoms of candidiasis, when the dimorphic fungus comprises a Candida fungus, especially Candida albicans, which is a causative fungus of the candidiasis.
