GENE SPECIFICALLY EXPRESSED IN PLANT AGING AND ITS PROMOTER

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gene specifically expressing only in aging of plants and to provide a promoter inducing the expression of the gene. PSOLUTION: Arabidopsis thaliana is treated with salicylic acid which is a stress-related plant hormone. Thereby, AtCDCP1 is found as a gene having its expression increased with the treatment. The full-length gene is confirmed as a result of sequence database search by using the sequence. A transgenic plant is regenerated and grown by a plasmid prepared by separating a part of the promoter and integrating a reporter gene.
