PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital signal recording/reproducing method and apparatus which can inhibit unauthorized utilization of a signal recorded in a recording medium and a signal outputted to a digital interface even if they are digital broadcasting signals which can be copied.;SOLUTION: As for a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th information for protecting a copyright, the 1st and 2nd information are added to a digital signal, and the 3rd information is inputted from a digital interface together with the digital signal, and the 4th information determines its value from a combination with the 1st to 3rd information and the value is recorded in a recording medium. Here, the 1st information is the information for controlling restriction against copying the digital signal; the 2nd information is the information for controlling whether to protect the copyright from unauthorized utilization; the 3rd information is the information for showing whether the encryption is performed; and the 4th information is the information for controlling restriction against copying the digital signal recorded in the recording medium.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
