PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anvil for a rotary cutting unit enhancing the reliability of the anvil and lengthening a service life, and to provide the rotary cutting unit having the anvil, and a cutting method using the rotary cutting unit.;SOLUTION: The rotary cutting unit 2 comprises a rotary cutter 4 lying on the rotatable anvil 18. The anvil 18 includes a shaft 19; at least one anvil portion 20 moving simultaneously with a cutting edge member 10 of the rotary cutter 4; and a pair of load transmitting portions 22 abutting on a pair of abutting members 16 of the rotary cutter 4. The pair of load transmitting portions 22 are arranged on both sides of the anvil 18. Load support members 24 are provided between the respective load transmitting parts 22 and the anvil portion 20.
