PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recycling a waste material of a thermoplastic resin composition at low cost as resources by compatibilizing a polyolefin thermoplastic resin composition and a polystyrene polyolefin thermoplastic resin composition obtained from a waste material of a thermoplastic resin composition, without lowering physical integrity in a recycled plastics composition. PSOLUTION: The method for recycling a waste material of a thermoplastic resin composition is a method for recycling a waste material of a product equipped with a member comprising a thermoplastic resin composition comprises a process which crushes this waste material, a process which sorts out a metal crushed material and a plastics crushed material from the crushed materials, and a process which separates a waste material of a plastics crushed material by specific gravity difference, wherein a modifying material having compatibility and/or dispersibility to a polyolefinic thermoplastic composition and a polystyrenic thermoplastic resin composition is blended to the waste material of the thermoplastic resin composition obtained from the foregoing processes.
