PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for preventing snow accretion and torsion exhibiting significant effect for preventing torsion of a wire, preventing undue snow accretion of the wire by dropping the snow effectively, exhibiting significant effect for damping galloping vibration with no risk of damaging the wire, and causing radio wave interference or noise pollution, and to provide a method for preventing galloping by that device.;SOLUTION: In the device for preventing the snow accretion and torsion where a tubular fixing body portion formed integrally with a clamp having a wire clamp is fixed to a wire, a ratchet rotary clamp rotatable reversely to the stranding direction of wire is fitted to the fixing body, and a weight is bonded below the rotary clamp, protruding and recessed saw-teeth are projecting in the longitudinal direction from the outer circumference of the fixing body, and ratchet pawls urged by a spring to the inner circumferential side of the protruding and recessed teeth and the rotary clamp are fitted to the protruding and recessed teeth thus regulating the rotational direction. A pair of ratchet rotary clamps rotatable reversely are juxtaposed to the fixing body and fitted thereto and the weight is bonded below the rotary clamp.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
