PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate the response of a notification of monitoring of a remote memory and increase the reliability of determination. PSOLUTION: A memory status monitoring system comprises a remote program for acquiring a memory status on an actual board, and a monitoring program for receiving memory status change information therefrom by program-to-program communication. The monitoring program comprises means for setting memory monitoring procedure data, means for sending them to the remote program, and means for receiving information indicating a change in memory status sent from the remote program. The remote program comprises means for receiving the memory monitoring procedure data, means for analyzing the contents of the memory monitoring procedure data, means for acquiring a memory status from the device, means for monitoring the acquired memory status to determine whether or not there is a change, means for executing the acquisition, monitoring and determination of the memory status according to a procedure by the memory monitoring procedure data, and means for sending notification information to the monitoring program if there is a change in memory status.
