PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To archive an electronic document efficiently, to secure sure originality guarantee of the archived electronic document, and to secure a storage period management of the electronic document. PSOLUTION: The system comprises: an object to be archived specifying part 110 for executing retrieval of the electronic document on the basis of the specified retrieval conditions and specifying an electronic document to be a document to be archived in an electronic document data base 125 for storing electronic documents; and a signature imparting part 111 for applying an electronic signature to the document to be archived, performing data transfer from the electronic document data base 125 of the document to be archived to an external medium 150 and storing the data of the electronic signature to a signature data base 126 by tying them to the document to be archived.
