PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further perform improvement to increase the yield of a single step (amm)oxidation process.;SOLUTION: A mixed metal oxide (MMO1) catalyst is provided. The performance of the MMO1 catalyst is improved by a Te-submonolayer deposition onto its surface by vapor deposition. A selectivity to acrylic acid is improved by about 6%, and the yield of acrylic acid is improved by 3% in absolute quantity. The performance of the catalyst is not improved if a similar Te is applied onto the MMO1 in wet impregnation process. A more improved catalytic performance is obtained as compared to treat a corresponding sample using an inert gas at the same high temperature, if the MMO1 catalyst on which Te is vapor deposited is post-treated with oxygen at a high temperature.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
