PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for opening fibers capable of performing the fiber-opening of a carbon fiber bundle without causing fluffs and a method for producing prepreg.;SOLUTION: This device for opening the fiber by passing the carbon fiber bundle while bending on a multiple number of vibrating roll groups is provided by having projections on the surfaces of the multiple number of the roll groups, setting the roll diameters as 40-100 mm, and 10-100 mm distance where each of the carbon fibers does not make a contact with the roll among each of the rolls, heating the carbon fiber bundle at 50-180°C range at the upstream side of and directly below the vibrating rolls and also setting that the multiple number of vibrating roll frequencies are the same in the vibrating rolls having projections on the surface of them and also the phases of the vibration are shifted by 180° for each one of the rolls.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
