PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin film magnetic head with heater in which magnetic spacing is suppressed to a small value by controlling more thermally efficiently a swell shape of a floating plane by suppressing variation in manufacturing, crush of a part near the trailing edge and a magnetic disk surface can be prevented surely and safely, a HGA with this head, and a magnetic disk apparatus with the HGA.;SOLUTION: This is the thin film magnetic head provided with a slider substrate, a magnetic head element provided on the slider substrate, an overcoat laminate composed of a plurality of overcoat layers formed on the slider so as to cover this magnetic head element, and a heating element to be heated during operation of the magnetic head element, the hearing element is provided in this overcoat laminate, a coefficient of thermal expansion of the overcoat layer located farthest from the slider substrate is smaller than a coefficient of thermal expansion of the overcoat layer located closest to the slider substrate in the overcoat laminate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
