PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new peptide utilizable as a nephrotoxicity inhibitor, to provide the nephrotoxicity inhibitor given by using the same, and to provide an antibacterial preparation given by using the same.;SOLUTION: This basic peptide contains three or more basic amino acids which are sequentially arranged in a molecule thereof, wherein amino acids arranged in regions intervening between the basic amino acids in the molecule comprise neutral amino acids or basic amino acids. Then, a peptide comprising an amino acid sequence expressed by sequence number 1 is synthesized as the basic peptide, and further a renal epithelial cell to which the peptide and [³H]gentamycin are added is cultured. The peptide thus synthesized has an IC₅₀ value of 2.1 μM and it is confirmed that an inhibitory effect of the peptide on taking-up of the gentamycin is 18 times or more larger than the effect conventionally confirmed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
