PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively manufacture a porous ceramic with light weight and high porosity.;SOLUTION: A composition whose essential 2 components are limestone sludge and kira (silt), where the rate of one component in the essential 2 components is not lower than 42% and where the total blending rate of the essential 2 components is 90% or more is sintered. The limestone sludge contains CaCO3 richly and the kira contains SiO2 richly. When the both components are mixed and sintered, CaOSiO2 (wallastonite) is formed by the sintering of CaCO3 and SiO2 and CO2 is simultaneously discharged.
