PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical mounting material having a linear expansion coefficient comparable to quartz and Pyrex(R) and exhibiting excellent flame retardancy, an optical mounting part, a new resin composition for optical mounting material giving an optical module and a method for producing the composition.;SOLUTION: The resin composition for optical mounting material contains a resin and inorganic fine particles. The inorganic fine particle is a hydrolytic condensation product of an alkoxide compound and/or a carboxylic acid salt compound and has an average inertia radius of ≤50 nm. A formed article of an optical mounting material, an optical mounting part and an optical module having low linear expansion coefficient and excellent flame retardancy can be produced by the use of the resin composition for optical mounting material.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
