PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating periodontal diseases. PSOLUTION: An extract of Panax notoginseng(Burk.) F. H. Chen capable of suppressing inflammation, promoting proliferation and differentiation of osteoblast, decreasing formation and activity of osteoclast, suppressing breakage of alveolar bone and increasing proliferation of periodontal ligament cell and the cell activity by suppressing isolation of tumor necrosis factor- (TNF-) and selectively killing only activated T cell is used as an active ingredient of the pharmaceutical composition.
